Core Beliefs
Scripture: The Holy Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to man. He is the Author and His purpose is to lead mankind to salvation. The Bible is truth without error and therefore is trustworthy. All Scripture is a testimony to Jesus Christ, who Himself is the focus of divine revelation.
Psalm 19:7-10; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12
God the Father: God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the course of human history. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. His desire is that mankind would come to Him through belief and faith through Jesus Christ, His son.
Genesis 1:1; Psalm 19:1-3; John 3:16, 14:6-13; 2 Peter 3:9
God the Son: Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His humanity He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He took upon Himself human nature thereby identifying Himself with mankind yet without sin. His substitutionary death on the cross made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead where sin and death were conquered. He ascended back into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of the Father where He is the One Mediator. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to complete His redemptive mission.
Matthew 1:1-18; John 1:1-18; 14:6 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:13-15
God the Holy Spirit: Being fully devine He inspired men to write the scriptures. He enables men to understand truth. The Holy Spirit exalts Jesus Christ. He convicts men of sin and righteousness and judgement. He calls me to the Savior and is the cause of transforming man’s heart and spirit. He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He freely gives spiritual gifts to every believer for the purpose of serving God through the church. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism and service.
Genesis 1:2, John 16:8-11; Acts 1:8; 4:31; 1 Corinthians 12-1-31
